Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) is currently seeking a Well Planner. Reporting to the Drilling Manager, this position will be responsible for designing and planning well trajectories, ensuring optimal drilling efficiency. This position will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including drilling engineers, geologists, and reservoir engineers, to integrate geological and geophysical data into well planning processes.
General Responsibilities
Develop well plans and trajectories that maximize drilling efficiency while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
Conduct risk assessments related to well drilling, identifying potential challenges and proposing mitigation strategies.
Monitor drilling operations in real-time, adjusting well plans as necessary to address unexpected issues and optimize performance.
Oversee surface designs for project developments including drill pads, facility pads, roads, electric, and takeaway.
Interface with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals, including AC research and maintaining Landmark Compass database.
Staying abreast of industry regulations and standards, ensuring all well plans and drilling activities comply.
Advise Drilling Engineers on appropriate survey programs and technology; collaborate and advise drillable subsurface well plans.
Work alongside vendors to coordinate pad and road construction.
Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of oil and gas experience, experience in well planning and drilling operations preferred.
Knowledge of drilling technologies, reservoir engineering principles, and industry best practices.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
Must be willing to travel to well locations
