What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation Tech position at Pero Family Farms?
Job Purpose –
Assure consistent cleaning of plant and food equipment. Performance of cleaning procedures that comply with stated corporate mission and strategic plan, corporate policies, and customer requirements.
Primary Responsibilities –
- Dry cleaning, garbage removal, and Janitorial activities
- Wet cleaning to include rinsing, soap application, and scrubbing
- Work with soap / other cleaning chemicals.
- Other duties as required
Physical & Environmental Conditions –
- Required to stand, sit, walk for long periods of time in rain gear
- Frequent use of hands for simple, firm grasping and writing
- Frequent bending, stopping, reaching, climbing
- Frequent lifting, carrying 5 pounds to 50 pounds
- Occasionally using cleaning equipment (foamer , brooms, shovels)
- Exposure to product fumes such as onions, peppers, etc.
- Exposure to varying temperatures down to 35 degrees F. or less
- Exposure to chemicals such as chlorine, Soap, etc.
- Works overtime as required
- Other duties as required
Education & Experience –
- Minimum High School Education / G.E.D. preferred or applicable certification
- Understanding of Produce Standards, and or basic produce experience preferred
- Good communication skills
- Microsoft Office / Excel / Word- basic computer skills
- Working knowledge of English and basic math
- Ability to interact with management
