Person County Government is recruiting for a Librarian Associate - Adult Services position for the Public Library. The purpose of this position is to perform technical and clerical duties in support of library operations and activities including oversight of adult services, providing aide to patrons, explaining policies and procedures, providing reference and reader’s advisory in adult literature, planning and implementing programs for 18 and older, and performing a variety of task related to assigned areas of responsibility.

This is a non-exempt position working 37.5 hours weekly/1950 hours annually.

If you have already applied your application is still being considered.MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Graduation from high school and college-level course work in library science or MLS degree through an accredited ALA university preferred.
  • One to two years’ experience in public libraries or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Preferred eligibility for North Carolina Public Librarian Certification.
