Staff Training Coordinator

We are looking for a Training Coordinator. This is part-time position, working approximately 20-25 hours per week, depending on various factors. This is a Monday through Friday 9:00am-2:00pm schedule, however this position requires flexibility, with the ability to work occasional Saturdays as needed. The right candidate must present strong organizational skills, ability to teach a diverse mix of personalities while accomplishing training goals, have good speaking and presentation skills, the ability to communicate information clearly; and possess enthusiasm for teaching and learning. This position reports to Human Resources.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT MAY NOT BE LIMITED TO:
- Provide an established agency-wide comprehensive training plan for all new employees.
- We will get you trained as a College of Direct Support (CDS) Administrator if needed.
- As a College of Direct Support (CDS) Administrator, you maintain the CDS database on a regular basis-adding in newly hired staff, removing those termed or resigned, scheduling and oversight of pre-designed on-line CDS training for new staff.
- Responsible for assuring needed skill sets are in place, to enable new employees to perform effectively and efficiently in the work place.
- Responsible for assuring other mandated-annual trainings on employees due for such are completed. (Fire Safety-Fire Prevention-Life Threatening Emergencies, etc).
- Verify that each new employee has completed designated College of Direct Support training mandated by DDD and P.I.L.O.T. Services.
- Provide training to new employees in P.I.L.O.T.’s Electronic Health Record (Therap), ensuring they understand how to access the record, document services, and how to create a General Event Report.
- Track and inform staff (and managers/supervisors) of all mandatory training and recertifications that employees are responsible for maintaining.
- Communicate with Managers (Residential & Day) when staff will be out of compliance with mandated trainings.
- Outreach (as needed) to staff, to place them into schedule for mandated trainings to avoid any staff from failing to be in compliance to mandated requirements.
- Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of all employee training files/records and any supporting documentation required (both state/agency mandated) for review during compliance audits conducted by the Division of Developmental Disabilities/Department of Human Services.
- Forward training files to Human Resources for any staff terminated or who resign from organization.
- Cooperate with the agency and DDD/DHS staff in any inspection or investigations.
- Attending as needed enrichment and supplemental trainings/workshops that support or are required by the Division of Developmental Disabilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Human Resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum High school diploma or GED equivalency, associate, bachelors a plus.
- Minimum of five (5) year experience working with developmentally disabled adults and demonstrated experience in staff development
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to work with all levels of management
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize trainings
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams
- Proficient on Microsoft Word and Excel required
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels
- Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
- Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization
- Certified as an American Red Cross Instructor a plus
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record

COMPENSATION:
- $18.00-$20.00 an hour, commensurate with experience
