General Laborer

Personnel Placements is seeking a dedicated and hardworking General Laborer to join our team. The General Laborer will primarily be responsible for cleaning, grinding, and preparing surfaces for painting in a manufacturing setting. Additionally, there may be opportunities to learn painting techniques and assist with loading trucks. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to work efficiently, and willing to learn new skills.

Responsibilities:

• Surface Preparation:
• Clean and grind surfaces to remove dirt, rust, and other contaminants.
• Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, and applying primers as necessary.
• Painting Assistance:
• Assist with painting tasks as directed by supervisors.
• Learn painting techniques and proper use of painting equipment.
• Truck Loading:
• Assist with loading finished products onto trucks for shipment.
• Ensure products are properly secured and organized for transport.
• Safety and Maintenance:
• Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work collaboratively with team members to accomplish daily tasks and meet production goals.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or labor-intensive role preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
