Objective
The position of Research Associate (RA) provides an opportunity for highly motivated researcher to join the Pipeline Discovery Laboratory to develop novel radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostics and therapy for cancers. The RA will support the research team in conducting preclinical in vitro and in vivo experiments and maintain the routine laboratory regulatory requirements. As skills develop, the RA will be independent in conducting basic and advanced assays in laboratory. Essential Functions
- Conduct the basic research tasks (e.g. perform experiments, process data) as supervised by the senior scientists.
- Work with mouse models.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and reagents.
- Maintain good laboratory practices, ability to use required PPE.
- Assist routine lab organization, general maintenance, including preparation of buffers and media, and autoclaving.

- Bachelor’s degree in biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
- 1-2 years of working experience in research lab.
- Experience with biochemical or molecular/cellular biology techniques, such as cell-based assays, enzymatic assays, ELISA, RNA extraction, PCR, Western blot, etc.
- Experience with cell culture
- 6-12 months experience with handling rodents including animal handling, tail vein injection, blood sampling and rodent and tissue dissection.
- Willing to work with radioisotopes.
- Experience in cancer-related field highly preferred.
Knowledge / Skill / Ability
- Full range of motion and ability to use both hands mandated by machinery. High degree of manual dexterity.
- Must be able to regularly lift 10 lb. weights, occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to maintain focus on a complex task for 4-6 hours at a time.
- Excellent communications, interpersonal and collaboration skills, and ability to interact professionally with a wide range of individuals and organizations, internal and external.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction, and drive deliverables through to completion by deadlines provided.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and commitment to high quality work.
- Comfort with various computer operating systems and laboratory operational platforms (i.e., GraphPad, Excel, following SOPs, data analysis).
- Ability to work within a corporate culture in which enthusiasm, respect, integrity, and teamwork are expected to the highest of standards.

- Must be able to work outside of regular work hours, including off shift, weekend, and holiday work as business needs require.
- May be required to sit or stand for long periods of 8 hours a day while performing duties.
- Occasional kneeling, crouching, twisting the upper body, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, or reaching may be required.
- Must possess good hand-eye coordination; close attention to detail is required.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors with exposure to mechanical/moving parts, hazards including radioactive, corrosive, flammable and toxic material, dust, dirt, odors, and irritants.
- Must be willing to wear a variety of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including eye and hearing protection, as needed.
- Willingness to complete safety training within allotted timeframes, and work in a team-based environment.
