About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to monitor the finances of our growing company. Daily, you will record all financial transactions, including cash payments, into the correct general ledger and verify that they are accurate. You will also be responsible for maintaining all financial records, completing required tax forms, processing payroll, and generating regular reports for upper management. Our ideal candidate has worked as a professional Bookkeeper for at least three to five years and has experience managing large bank accounts. Candidates must be team-oriented and understand the rigors start-up life.
**Note: We do have office space locally, but require the candidate to have the ability and necessary office equipment and supplies to effectively work from home. There will be requirements of the candidate to come by the office 1x-3x per week. **Candidates must live in the greater Treasure Valley, Idaho area.
Responsibilities
- Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
- Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, supplier’s ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
- Bring the books to the trial balance stage
- Perform partial checks of the posting process
- Complete tax forms
- Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements
- Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner
- Updating spending models and budget creation.
- Perform payroll functions in an accurate and timely manner, and submit payroll taxes
- Conduct reconciliation of all accounts.
- Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner
- Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments
- Perform account receivable functions including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition
- Prepare financial reports through collection, analysis, and summarization of data
- Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work to ensure compliance with applicable standards
Qualifications for Bookkeeper
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
- 3-5 years relevant experience working in corporate accounting and bookkeeping
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of GAAP
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient skills in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel/Office
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Compensation
