Distribution Supervisor

Pet Food Express is seeking experienced, enthusiastic, and hands-on candidates to join our Distribution Center Team at our new 197,000 sq ft. Retail Fulfilment Center in Oakley, CA. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of working on the floor and using the WMS and other production monitoring tools to deliver predictable, scalable results.

Reporting to the DC Operations Manager, the Distribution Supervisor manages the activities of the outbound team within specific functional areas of the operation. Duties include the pre-shift planning and execution of the daily Store-Order fulfillment goals. This vital role is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Warehouse Associates in order selection, replenishment, shuttling, loading, and custodial roles.

This role is a key player in maintaining a safe, respectful, collaborative, and healthy culture of accountability.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, timely, and accurate processing of daily orders.
• Assess staffing for the day and assign resources and equipment according to the workload.
• Monitor work progress throughout the shift to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner.
• Dedicate a minimum of 70% of your day to on-the-floor supervision.
• Look for patterns in the problems. Resolving inventory accuracy issues and/or escalating to the Warehouse Analysts.
• Recognize and encourage exceptional performance while coaching and addressing those who require it.
• Monitor cleanliness and organization as you move through the facility.
• Enforce all safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Participate in and oversee the training of new and existing associates.
• Participate in Direct Observation Process validation.
• Model personal accountability.
• Cultivate and maintain a positive work environment.
• Provide honest, accurate, and timely feedback to associates and to management with regard to their performance, qualifications, development, and morale.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years’ experience supervising in a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse practices and procedures.
• Familiarity with warehouse systems; Proficient with MS Excel, Word and Outlook, WMS and capable of learning new software.
• A positive can-do attitude.
• An uncompromising commitment to safe practices.  Comfortable recognizing, assessing, and stopping unsafe practices if observed.
• The willingness to work a 1st Day Shift schedule as early as 5:30am and the flexibility to support various shifts if needed and to be reliably present and on-time.

The salary range for this position is expected to be $75,000 - $85,000. Pet Food Express determines starting salary based on many factors, including but not limited to, local market rate, the qualified pool of candidates, internal compensation practices, a candidate’s actual skills and experience, and budget constraints.
