The Independence Pet Group People Operations Team is seeking to add an experienced and innovative Benefits Manager. Under the direction of the Sr. Manager, Total Rewards, this role is responsible for building a benefits program, aligning health & welfare across multiple brands, and delivering a best-in-class employee experience. This role will oversee all areas of benefits design and administration, including policies, procedures and compensation/benefits systems harmonization in the U.S.

As an integral part of our People Operations team and a trusted partner to business leaders and employees, you will help shape the way we deliver benefits information and service to the organization. Youll be an integral part of the team driving an awesome employee experience through building benefit programs that support IPGs ability to recruit & retain talent, drive employee engagement, and achieve business performance goals. This is a hands-on role and will have responsibility for frontline employee experiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the People Operations team, Finance and Leadership teams to build the strategic design and execution of the companys benefits program
  • Contribute to the design of the companys benefits programs including health, welfare, wellness and retirement programs
  • Develop communications plans to ensure programs are well understood, administered equitably and market aligned
  • Establish and measure key benefit program metrics. Regularly benchmark company programs and monitor external trends to proactively adjust company plans and programs to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Play a key leadership role in M&A integration
  • Implement annual open enrollment program across brands
  • Support the data driven culture and mindset within the People Operations organization
  • Cultivate and foster strong relationships with business leadership educate and instill awareness of the strategic offerings
  • Provide ongoing mentorship, training, and development to People team members
  • Be a culture carrier by living and modeling the organizations values
  • Monitor current trends and innovations in benefits practices, make recommendations and implement new programs and policies as appropriate


Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience building and implementing benefits programs for a growing organization
  • Experience deploying HR tech solutions
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret and communicate data as well as make data driven decisions
  • A strong bias for action paired with a sense of urgency and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Desire to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment with flexibility to handle multiple priorities that span from tactical to strategic along the way
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity while also managing day to day and building for future growth
  • Ability to build relationships, collaborate, and partner with stakeholders at all levels in the organization to deliver a great employee experience
  • Experience using Workday, ADP, Paycom and/or other HCMs
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Demonstrated ability to strike a balance between strategic partnership-building and getting things done
  • Experience leading projects and driving organizational change management efforts

Education / Experience:

  • 8 years of progressive experience in and benefits design and implementation in a progressive, high growth and results oriented insurance and/or tech environment
  • Bachelors degree in Business, HR or related field preferred
  • CEBS Certification is highly desired
