Regular interaction with peers and cross-functional leadership is expected as we work collaboratively to solve problems and drive improvements and efficiencies throughout the Company. Responsibilities around internal controls and interactions with auditors will also be a part of this role.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage all daily and monthly lease accounting activities (ASC 842) (70%)
- Collaborate with Real Estate department and lease administration to review modifications to current lease contracts and generate monthly rent invoice journals
- Responsible for all lease related reconciliations including CAM, insurance and taxes
- Assist in tracking company leases for accounting treatment under ASC 842
- Prepare initial lease journal entries and subsequent monthly journal entries
- Perform other lease accounting responsibilities as needed
Perform various accounting responsibilities in support of general accounting (30%)
- Support month-end close process including monthly journal entries and variance analysis
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations for assigned accounts
- Assist in the annual budgeting process as required
- Perform other accounting responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors’ degree in business is required, preferably in Accounting or Finance. CPA certification is a plus
- Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on accounting experience required
- Understanding of GAAP and SOX compliance
- Experience with general ledger, accounts payable, and leasing contracts is preferred
- Experience with ASC 842 is preferred
- Excellent attention to detail with proven organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with Advanced skills in Excel, including formulas like XLOOKUP and pivot tables.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and meet deadlines.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload based on changing needs.
