What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Wedding Planner position at Petal Weddings?
Petal Weddings is looking for 1-2 associate wedding planners to join our Miami, FL team. As a contracted team member, you will be responsible for managing wedding clients from sales to coordination, with oversight from the owner as you learn and progress. We are seeking true team players, someone that is willing to grow and learn in the industry, and has a positive outlook of the wedding industry!
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute weddings and related events from start to finish
- Meet with clients to understand their vision and preferences for their wedding day
- Create detailed timelines and schedules for all aspects of the wedding
- Source and negotiate contracts with vendors such as venues, caterers, florists, photographers, and musicians
- Assist with budgeting and financial management for the wedding
- Coordinate logistics such as transportation, accommodations, and guest seating arrangements
- Provide guidance and support to clients throughout the planning process
- Upsell additional services or upgrades to enhance the wedding experience
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of the event
- Handle any issues or emergencies that may arise during the wedding
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in wedding planning or events management is required
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on creating memorable experiences
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and vendors
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial management principles
- Familiarity with hospitality industry practices and trends
- Fundraising experience is a plus
- Ability to negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors
- Proficiency in using event planning software or tools is an advantage
Compensation:
- Upon closing a client, you will receive a percentage of the total package. Standard hourly rate will apply for all hours worked outside of clients you have closed or have been assigned to you.
