Petco is a category-defining health and wellness company focused on improving the lives of pets, pet parents and Petco partners. We are 29,000 strong, working together across 1,500 pet care centers, 250 Vetco Total Care hospitals, hundreds of preventive care clinics, eight distribution centers and two support centers.
The Sr. Analyst will play an impactful role on Petco's mission to improve the lives of pets, pet parents and our own Petco partners. The Pricing Analyst will be responsible for the analytics and insights that improve our Pricing Engine, ensuring both quality of input & output signals aligned to overall business strategies. The Pricing Analyst will partner with cross-functional stakeholders on various projects (Merchants, Site, Marketing) to drive analytics-based decision making. In this role, you will:
- Leverage analytics to recommend optimal Price Engine settings, build out dashboards for insights into promotional performance, and drive business strategy.
- Identify optimization opportunities and engage with eCommerce and Store leadership to influence and execute actions.
- Use analytics to prioritize how Product and Data Science teams develop dynamic pricing tools to effectively respond to changing business needs and market trends.
- Integrate data from multiple sources to assess pricing strategies and market trends.
- Root-cause defects and utilize monitoring dashboards to ensure health of pricing system and prevent future defects.
- Create new insights, databases, and dashboards by applying a deep understanding of complex data structures and business processes.
- Utilize a Lean Six Sigma mindset to continuously improve operations and recommend new processes/methods.
Education/Experience
- 3 years of experience in a highly analytical business role, including (but not limited to) consulting, finance, technology, retail, or e-commerce.
- Leveraging analytics to drive actions and process improvement with both technical & non-technical stakeholders.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, Python, R or other relational database query languages.
- Working knowledge of data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Spotfire.
- Bachelor's degree from a rigorous undergraduate program with demonstrated high academic achievement Economics, Statistics, Computer Science preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple, time-sensitive deliverables and competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and highly effective in cross-functional environments.
