Food Safety Coordinator, Fort Collins, Colorado

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Quality Assurance manager to coordinate, assist, improve and maintain food safety and quality programs to ensure compliance with certification and regulatory entities (SQF, NASC and FDA).
- Assist with reviewing and verifying of records and documents relevant to food safety and quality programs including but not limited to: Food Safety Plans, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food Defense surveys, pest control, calibration records, foreign material control, non-conformances, internal audits, allergen control program and hourly and daily quality checks.
- Assist with Environmental Program completion and corrective actions.
- Serve as a backup point of contact for food safety and quality during audits for the QA Director and QA Manager and general coverage in the event of the Quality Manager’s absence.
- Author, co-author, and review as needed, standard operating procedures and forms for compliance with SQF, NASC, Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), HACCP, and cGMP policies and regulations.
- Assist with new hire and annual food safety training.
- Assist the QA Manager with managing the On Hold Program through weekly review and communication to responsible departments.
- Responsible to assist with training quality technicians to ensure they adequately perform food safety, quality, and analytical tasks.
- Work with Quality Assurance Manager to establish and document corrective and preventive actions through root cause analysis regarding food safety, operational and quality opportunities.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and retention of documents including QA digital hourly and daily checks, Safety Data Sheet maintenance (SDS) and Food Safety/HACCP monitoring.
- Communicate promptly food safety and quality issues to upper management; assist the QA Manager with investigation using root cause analysis and providing solutions.
- Lead by example to develop a culture of employee health and safety, food safety and quality.
- Experience with 3rdParty Food safety audits a plus (SQF, BRC, FSIS, ISO).
