Job Summary

The purpose of this job is to support the Foundation’s operational functions. The role will primarily assist with finance and grants management duties, while providing additional back-up support for office administration.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Finance and Accounting Serves as the cash disbursements coordinator, processes vendor and grant disbursements and expense reports for reimbursement using Bill.com
  • Serves as the cash receipts coordinator
  • Maintains records in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
  • Assists with Financial review of grant requests
  • Responsible for routine accounting activities including verification of documents and data, account coding, data entry and monthly reconciliations
  • Participates in budget, audit, tax preparation and internal financial reporting as assigned
  • Ensures grants management system reconciles with QBO
  • Grants Management Works closely with Grants Manager to maintain Foundation’s grants and initiative files
  • Processes grant applications, ensuring document is ready for review
  • Coordinates with team members to create grant agreements and ensures accuracy
  • Communicates with various contacts of grantee organizations regarding reports and grant payments (report reminders, finance contact bill.com establishment)
  • Provides timely response and exceptional customer service to grantee inquiries and troubleshooting within grant portal
  • Assists with Dynamics 365-based system administration
  • Provides assistance to office administration role.
  • Performs other duties as needed.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or at least 4 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the job duties and responsibilities.
  • A strong proficiency with technology including, but not limited to, Microsoft 365 Suite, QuickBooks Online, and grants management systems.

  • Ability to assess grants, interpret grant and other financial and numerical data and draw accurate conclusions.
  • Ability to humbly and effectively work with nonprofits and partners in local communities.
  • Highly professional and shows discretion dealing with confidential information.
  • Willingness to solicit and receive feedback to grow and learn.
  • Exemplifies the Foundation’s values in all aspects of the work both internally and externally and maintains a positive work culture.


 

Work Environment

This position is based in the foundation’s Omaha office. We operate in a hybrid model and require staff to be in the office four days per week.

This is primarily a sedentary role. However, the person in this position may need to occasionally move about inside the office to liaise with internal staff, access files, office machinery and a copy machine/printer.

Salary

The salary range for this position is $55,000-70,000, depending on experience.
