The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for assuring quality patient care by coordinating with the RN in the planning and implementation of patient care in the Endoscopy Suite. Maintains SGNA and ASGE standards to ensure patient safety at all times. Assists the physician by setting up the equipment and supplies, collecting specimens performing technical tasks as required and reprocessing the Endoscopes.
Education
Preferred: Previous experience as an Endoscopy Tech or LVN or Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program
Technical Skills
Required: Ability to read, write and follow instructions; strong organizational skills
Preferred: Meditech, faxing, scanning
Certification
Required: Basic Life Support
Preferred: LVN or Certification as a Surgical Technologist. ACLS and PALS.
Experience
Preferred: One or more years experience as an Endoscopy Technician
