Job Description Peterson Cat has a need for an experienced Director of Marketing based at our San Leandro, CA location. SUMMARY This position is responsible for achieving all corporate marketing policies and initiatives. Directs the development and execution of annual comprehensive, measurable strategic marketing plans, by operating company, to achieve all goals and objectives. In addition, this position utilizes technology and data to identify changes in the competitive environment and enable responsive marketing activities. The Director of Marketing is a key stakeholder of Peterson’s Enterprise CRM System – Salesforce. Directs the development and execution of comprehensive, measurable strategic marketing plans to meet goals and objectives of the company. Develop and implement key performance indicators and metrics to monitor and evaluate effectiveness of marketing strategies. Must be in alignment with Caterpillar, Trimble, and Navistar. Takes the lead on Excellence programs related to marketing for each of the OEMs we represent. Stewards the maturation of Peterson’s Enterprise CRM System – Salesforce environment as business interest grows. Oversees the development and maintenance of marketing budgets; prepares reports as needed. Deliver & ensure consistent, aligned branding with Caterpillar and Navistar. Develops and implements aggressive and creative marketing campaigns, promotions, and programs, with identified KPIs and ROI. Has oversight for the retail presence at Peterson locations across the dealership. This includes displays, messaging, offers, merchandise etc. Also is a stakeholder and collaborative partner in the delivery of the total retail journey across the dealership. Directs Customer Experience Manager to enhance the retail environment for walk-in customers and supports local store personnel on Peterson's customer experience and retail assessment standards. Develops and executes digital marketing and social media strategies that increase lead generation, and brand visibility. Includes corporate websites, search engine marketing and automation platforms. Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities. Directs the coordination, management, and communication of market research and competitive analysis. Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops marketing staff; manages schedules and workflow. Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations. Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance. Regularly travel to branch locations and visit customers; Operate company or personal vehicle as needed. Monitors overall activities of the marketing department; identifies problem areas and directs corrective actions. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college in a closely related field; a minimum of 6 years of directly related experience in Marketing, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; a minimum of 10 years of sales experience in earthmoving/heavy equipment service, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Must display strong, broad business acumen and business development skills Must display strong knowledge of Peterson’s products and services Must have proven visionary leadership skills Must have proven ability to develop senior-level relationships CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. The pay range for this position is: $171,000.00 - $213,000.00 (Starting wage will depend on experience and education. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.)
