What are the responsibilities and job description for the EHS Manager position at Peterson Manufacturing Company?
We are looking for an experienced, energetic new EHS Manager to join our team. The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager develops and coordinates environmental, safety, industrial hygiene, and property conservation programs to include compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and property casualty requirements, and provides technical support in the development, implementation, and monitoring of Industrial Health and Safety programs. Key measurables of this aspect of the role include attainment of health and safety goals and compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive environmental program that is in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements
· Develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive safety, industrial hygiene program, and written Health & Safety Programs that are in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements
· Develops and delivers training and education as required
· Serves as the primary on-site liaison for regulatory agencies and property casualty carriers; accompanies inspectors during visits; communicates results of inspections as required; recommends corrective actions, and oversees corrective action initiatives
· Leads departmental reviews of environmental, safety, and industrial hygiene problems/concerns and develops policies and/or procedures designed to mitigate/eliminate hazards associated with exposure, injury or loss
· Prepares and maintains reports as required; maintains requisite records including documentation of training, inspections, industrial hygiene sampling, periodic environmental reports, and hazardous/non-hazardous wastes
· Acts as a resource to subsidiaries in the areas of environmental, safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics and property casualty programs
· Remains current on applicable regulations and advises upper management of pending changes that may impact the business
· Maintains requisite training records to include documentation of training, inspections, and other related documents.
· Oversees the Ergonomics program for selected subsidiaries
· Conducts incident investigations, conducts root-cause analysis, recommends corrective actions, and oversees implementation
· Analyzes incident rates and accident trends and recommends performance enhancements
· Evaluates new safety equipment and techniques and recommends enhancements
· Responds to emergency situations and provides assistance as required
· Acts as a resource to subsidiaries on Health & Safety matters
· Monitors the accident reporting and investigation process and recommends enhancements
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
· Ability to analyze and interpret government regulations such as EPA, OSHA, DOT, etc
· Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with associates at all levels
· Ability to analyze laboratory results and generate reports that accurate summarize findings
· Ability to manage multiple projects, evaluate alternative methodologies, and prepare appropriate courses of action that are in line with corporate strategies
· Good organizational skills and ability to work well with
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelors degree in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, or Public Health, or equivalent; advanced degree a plus
· 7-10 years demonstrated performance in an environmental, safety & health, and/or industrial hygiene management role
· Must have manufacturing experience; injection molding and powder coating would be a plus
· Certification through a certifying board (CSP, BCSP, CIH, ABIH) is desirable
· Experience in the use, storage, and disposal of hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal waste
· Experienced in performing air and noise monitoring and developing and implementing corrective actions

Pay: $72,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
