Claims Senior Support:Summary of Position:Perform all clerical duties on new incoming claims; Includes logging of claim and requesting any necessary information from clinics and/or customers. Monitor reports for tracking workflow and service goals.Principal Duties & Responsibilities:Accurately and efficiently log claims; This may include paper claims, faxed claims, and emailed claims based on established time-frames and goalsBack-up the claims support supervisor as needed; assist team members with questions and training; assigning tasks, respond to emailsIdentify incomplete claim forms and/or need for additional information required to process claim; Request additional information in a prompt, professional manner as required via fax, email, or phone.Meet performance metrics set forth by department managementContact veterinary clinics and/or customers to secure medical records and claim related informationProvide accurate and adequate documentation of all client and veterinary communicationProvide “best in class” customer service to our customers to discuss claimsSelf-manage priorities and resourcesEnsure all policies and procedures are being adhered toReadily adapt to change and integrate new knowledge, policies, procedures, and regulations in our fast-paced and constantly improving environmentShare expertise and their own best practices with peersPerform other duties as assigned by supervisorOperate standard office equipment/software including:Multi-line telephone system Excel/spreadsheetPC/printer/calculator/copier/faxKey Competencies:Self-starter with the ability to work independentlyExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong attention to detailAbility to multi-taskProfessional and courteous - maintain composure and approachability when dealing with the fast pace, constant interruptions and stressful conditionsService orientedOrganizedExcellent telephone and email etiquetteEffective time managementComputer literacyAble to work in a fast paced environment and adaptableTeam orientationLife-long learning - pursues opportunities for training to develop new skills and/or increase effectivenessRequirements:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredFamiliarity of breeds, pharmaceuticals, veterinary procedures, and terminology preferredStrong written and oral communication skills with internal and external audiencesClaims Adjuster’s License preferred. If not licensed, we pay for training and licensingProficiency with MS Office* Must be willing to travel to the office as neededWorking Conditions:Frequent sitting as well as the ability to move about all areas of the company’s building. Flexibility in scheduling. Regular and prompt attendance is essential. Must have the ability to interact as a professional with others and all external company contacts. Monitoring Policy:Employees who regularly communicate with customers or potential customers may have their telephone conversations and other forms of communication monitored by a member of management or designated assistant. Monitoring is used to identify and correct performance problems through targeted training. If at any time during the monitoring process a personal communication is identified, the monitoring will immediately be suspended; however you may be asked to continue your personal communication on non-business equipment and on personal time.
