JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title : Foreman
Department : Installation
Reports to : Director of Operations
FLSA Status : Non-Exempt
Position Summary
The foreman directs and supervises skilled and unskilled workers in the preparation and application of concrete coatings and concrete polishing, following recognized procedures and techniques of the industry. The foreman is a working foreman, responsible for performing a wide variety of skilled construction tasks on a daily basis. The foreman assigns specific jobs to workers based on skill level and individual expertise and supervises the work. The foreman assists in planning and implementing the phasing required to accomplish the assigned project. The foremen monitors the assigned work and enforces OSHA workplace safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist project manager in ensuring projects are implemented, scheduled, and completed in a timely manner utilizing safe working methods while meeting deadlines and company standards.
- Supervise skilled and unskilled workers
- Assure completion of assigned projects with quality workmanship by assigning the level of manpower needed to successfully complete the work, planning and scheduling daily work activities, arranging for supplies and equipment for work projects, instructing workers with regard to expectations, providing direction in the proper performance of the work, monitoring work performance, inspecting the final product for conformance with specifications, standards, and expectations, providing direction with regard to correction of any deficiencies as necessary, redirecting work efforts to meet critical and/or necessary work requirements and completion dates.
- Assist with the development of a competent and efficient workforce by training personnel (as necessary) in the proper use of hand and power tools, materials and equipment.
- Document materials used for the assigned projects.
- Assist the project manager with mapping the project and maintains documentation of project communication.
- Notify project manager of unforeseen issues that arise, such as additional time, materials, and/or manpower needed to complete the assigned project.
- Report injuries/illnesses to management immediately.
- Inspect jobsite, tools and equipment, and vehicles daily and identifies potential hazards. Documents and determines the method of abatement of such hazards.
- Notify supervisor of necessary vehicle and equipment maintenance.
- Notify workers daily of arrival time and location of project.
Qualifications
Valid CA driver license.
Minimum 3 years industry related experience, with prior supervisory experience and ability to lead a crew.
General Electrical and mechanical comprehension.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Weekends and flexible hours required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
