Veterinary Assistant

Pewaukee Veterinary Service is seeking a full OR part time Veterinary Assistant to join our busy 8 Doctor Practice. The Veterinary Assistant is a key member of the hospital team who supports the Veterinary and Technical Team.

We are a fast paced hospital that is currently seeing our clients and pets in the building all while offering the latest in patient care, surgery and rehabilitation services. We have in house lab machines, digital radiology, digital dental radiology, ultrasound and CT imaging and offer the latest in minimally invasive surgical techniques including endoscopy, laparoscopy, and arthroscopy.

Responsibilities

While under the supervision of the Business Manager and the Technician Managers, the VA must be able to perform the following duties that include but are not limited to-

• · Ensuring the safety of our patients by providing a clean and safe working environment in the surgical suites, treatment areas, exam rooms and kennels
• · Working with the team to maintain a steady workflow for patients
• · Communication with the veterinarian and other technical team members
• · Setting up for procedures to be performed by a veterinarian

Qualifications

· 2 years of prior experience required

· Animal handling experience

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Reliable, positive attitude, flexible and approachable

· Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment

Wage based on experience: $14.00 – 17.00 per hour
