What are the responsibilities and job description for the Herdsman position at Pfaff’s Prairie Farms?
Herds-person for 550 cow robotic dairy
Duties:
- manage herd of Dairy cows
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the animals under your care
- Monitor and maintain the health of the animals, including administering medications or treatments as needed
- Assist with breeding and birthing processes as required
- Vaccination of animals , ovsynch shots
- Working with nutritionists
Skills:
- Knowledge of animal husbandry practices to ensure the health and well-being of livestock
- Proficiency in animal care techniques, including feeding, handling, and treating
-working well with others
-knowledge of working with computers, or willing to learn
Willing and able to train the right candidate

Expected hours: 65 – 75 per week
