Distribution Designer

Position Overview: As a Utility Designer, you will be responsible for converting as-built drawings into comprehensive and up-to-date Geographic Information System (GIS) designs using ArcFM Designer 10 and 11 software. Your expertise in GIS, utility infrastructure, and Schneider Electric's utility solutions will be critical to improving the accuracy and efficiency of our utility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• As-Built Drawing Transformation: Utilize ArcFM Designer 10 and 11 by Schneider Electric software to translate as-built drawings into GIS designs accurately.
• Data Integration: Ensure that data from as-built drawings is integrated seamlessly into the GIS system, including geospatial data and attribute information.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks to verify the accuracy and consistency of GIS designs and data, making necessary corrections as required.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records and documentation of all GIS design activities and revisions for future reference.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, GIS analysts, and field technicians, to ensure the GIS designs align with utility infrastructure requirements.
• Software Expertise: Stay up-to-date with the latest features and capabilities of ArcFM Designer 10 and 11 software and provide training or support to other team members as needed.
• Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues in GIS designs, as well as assist in troubleshooting software-related problems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in ArcFM Designer 10 and 11 by Schneider Electric software.
• Strong understanding of utility infrastructure and as-built drawing interpretation.
• Familiarity with GIS data standards and best practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Prior experience in utility design or GIS transformation is a plus.
