The Meetings, External Events, & Travel (MEET) Strategic Operations Lead is responsible for the design and implementation of strategic initiatives that span the MEET organization. This role reviews the measurement of all MEET areas to report against budgets, commitments, and savings opportunities. This leader will partner with the MEET Global Operations Lead and with MEET LT colleagues to identify opportunities for improvement that will further increase MEET efficiency by optimizing structure and processes. The MEET Strategic Operations Lead will also be responsible for coordinating all MEET initiatives to ensure alignment. Additional responsibilities include management of$45MMEET operating budget. This role will lead all governance activities for MEET and will ensure alignment with Global Business Services (GBS) and Sourcing & Enterprise Services (SE&S) strategies.
The role will work closely with MEET LT colleagues and will report directly to the Global MEET OperationsLead.
MEET Strategic Operations

  • Drive strategic initiatives spanning MEET LT areas to ensure alignment and coordination

  • Lead cross-LT coordination efforts for all in flight activities

  • Drive communication initiatives across the broader MEET organization, incl. newsletters, town halls, etc.

  • Develop and implement strategy for reporting and analytics for MEET stakeholders, including MAPP transaction data travel data savings summary card spend information (working closely with Decision Support Center of Excellence (DSCoE))

  • Handle coordination of colleague community collaboration efforts

  • Lead governance activities to align global initiatives and MEET performance with stakeholders

  • Ensure alignment with North Star principles of 'speed to value, business impact, promote our services, and create capacity'

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Ability to present to executive leadership and manage relationships with stakeholders globally (incl. significant coordination with business stakeholders)

  • Represent MEET with stakeholders

  • Coordinate all reporting and metrics with DSCOE toanalyze and report oncross category impact and forecasting of future volumes

Financial Responsibilities

  • Manage $45M budget for MEET organization

  • Lead the collection and accountability for all savings areas of MEET including rebates, commissions,vendor savings and other efficiencies we track across the MEET organization

  • Ability to present to executive leadership and manage relationships with stakeholders globally (incl. significant coordination withbusiness stakeholders)

  • Liaise with DSCOE for support with reporting and analytics

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 years (9 years with MBA/MS) of experience in travel, meetings, events, and associated compliance controls (incl. audit and/or finance experience), including 5 years experience leading initiatives for a global organization

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline

  • Understanding and awareness of the technology landscape that supports MEET (Engage, Navigator, etc.)

  • Ability to analytically review and challenge statutory financial statements to ensure completeness, accuracy, adherence to accounting standards, etc.

  • Strong technical skills in managing transactions within all Pfizer global systems

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills enabling effective communication with all levels of management

  • Ability to lead and influence others

  • Ability to align leaders on strategy and deliverables

  • Strong accounting, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and to handle several projects at once

  • High level of self-motivation, energy, and flexibility

  • Highly customer- and service-minded

  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement.

  • Proven ability to maintain complete and accurate standard operating procedures

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Management of multiple client stakeholders

  • Proficiency in PC skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required

  • Good organizational skills to coordinate and manage multiple priorities

  • Proficient written and verbal skills to enable effective communication with all levels of management

Experience

  • Fluency in English is a must, additional languages preferred

  • SAP/Ariba/Concur experience preferred

  • Demonstrated diverse leadership experiences including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact

  • Proven ability to lead and manage large budgets, reporting and metrics and other financials

  • Deep expertise and understanding of travel, meetings, card, and associated compliance operations

Work Location Assignment: On-Premise. Locations listed are preferred, but other site locations will be consideredThe annual base salary for this position ranges from $144,900.00 to $241,500.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Salary range does not apply to the Tampa, FL location.
Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or eligibility.
