What You Will Achieve Reporting to the SI Pipeline Lead, this leader drives SI Pipeline Portfolio Strategy, Search (Internal & External Opportunities), and associated insights and sourcing new development ideas for the SI Business within Hospital. The Hospital business is at the forefront of driving patient impact with its industry leading portfolio of > 200 sterile injectables and delivery platforms (AddVantage, NexJect etc.) including anti-infectives, chemotherapy, anesthetics and others critical medicines used in the Hospital care setting. With global revenue of >$3.7B, the US Sterile Injectable business accounts for >50% of the global Pfizer Hospital sterile injectable revenue. · The SI Pipeline Strategy, Search, Insights, Ideation Lead will be responsible for the overarching strategy and generating development opportunity substrate to drive sustained growth for global Hospital business · The role will be the single point of accountability for creating a flourishing cross functional ecosystem that fuels a diverse portfolio of programs including lifecycle management of existing injectables portfolio as well as new complex/differentiated generics programs in partnership with their SI Portfolio Development cross functional peer group · The scope of the role is Global with a strong near-term emphasis on building and scaling up the Sterile Injectable pipeline with a focus on US opportunities and expansion to ex-US markets. · This is a new and customized role in the Specialty/Hospital business that is specifically designed to meet the unique needs and growth opportunities for the hospital business · They will be a member of the SI Pipeline Hospital Leadership team managing a pool of resources to be deployed as needed across Strategy, Search, Insights and Ideation activities across the business How You Will Achieve It Partner across functional lines to simplify ways of working and accelerate programs Be a champion and ambassador of the SI Pipeline Strategy ensuring that the vision, strategy and plans are understood and aligned with cross-functional partners and within the team Look at creative ways to align Pfizer capabilities and consider potential collective advantage plays Shape and refine the focus area strategies for the SI Pipeline category with Inline business Leads, development partners and leadership (SPAs etc.) Build out the future pipeline for the injectables business leveraging innovative approaches to gain customer insights to address unmet needs · Support the evaluation and identification of business development opportunities that align with the US Hospital business strategy across each segment of the pipeline Identifying and driving commercial evaluation of new internal & external growth opportunities Ensure environmental understanding, market development activities, market research, competitive intelligence, etc. are performed to develop Strategic Plans for key assets and maintain updated asset forecasts / business cases Lead the team of colleagues responsible for identifying and driving commercial evaluation of new internal & external growth opportunities in the Sterile Injectable space for US Hospital Translate potential unmet needs to potential product ideas and validate commercial potential, translating ‘fungible’ ideas to target product profiles Build and maintain a dynamic innovation engine database to actively monitor and review new opportunities The lead will translate Hospital strategy into specific opportunities that leverage and build upon Pfizer’s core capabilities in Sterile Injectables, while also meeting growth objectives Establish a prioritized, systematic and targeted approach to identifying opportunities that are aligned with the US Hospital strategy and address pipeline/channel gaps within the business · Partner with Execution and Value Lead and Pipeline Performance Lead to develop strategic insights, financial analysis/forecasting, competitive intelligence and commercial alignment on key assumptions to build business cases Partner closely with region/market commercial leaders as well as other enterprise stakeholders to understand unmet needs/gaps Qualifications Must-Have Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees (PhD, PharmD, MBA, etc.) preferred 10 years of broad pharmaceutical experience in commercial development/product development/marketing/operations/strategy The leader will be a strong self-starter with a proven track record of delivering results in complex and matrixed environment, leading and building resilient teams and driving impact through influence, collaboration and clear decision making Demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
