Assistant Transportation Team Lead

Position Summary:
Potawatomi Training, LLC (a federal government contractor) is seeking a qualified Assistant Transportation Team Lead who is responsible for assisting the coordination and oversight of the implementation and continuing operation of transportation services under contract and programs that support transportation services directly provided by the Center for Domestic Preparedness. Additional duties are regularly assigned. Assistant will work irregular hours and weekends to include (On Call/Standby) duties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assists with daily operations of personnel in the Transportation section to include ensuring compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and government regulations
• Assists with activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of all student transportation needs
• Assists with emergency issues regarding vehicles and personnel after hours
• Assists Managers and staff members in order to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives
• Assists with the reviews, creation, and implementation of standard operation procedures (SOP) in accordance with mission requirements
• Maintains various spreadsheets to include but not limited to vehicle maintenance records, vehicle key inventory, vehicle credit cards, and individual driver hours
• Assists with coordinating charter bus requirements as needed and provides, monthly roll-up for costing purposes as needed
• Assists with the investigation of department traffic accidents, initiated reports, maintain records, and forward reports to responsible agencies
• Coordinates repairs, preventative maintenance, and fuel and mileage reports for assigned vehicles
• Monitors operations to ensure that subordinate members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, and government regulations.
• Maintain accurate records/documentation of training, licensing, testing, physicals and driving records
• Assists with and conducts training sessions relative to driver/safety issues
• Performs emergency afterhours duties to include transporting students from various airports or locations
• Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
• High school graduate or GED equivalent required; degree in Transportation, Logistics or Business preferred
• At least three (3) years related work experience
• Valid Alabama State Operator License and a valid Alabama State CDL Class B with passenger endorsement with air brake
• Must pass a physical exam every two years, or as required by the Department of Transportation
• Familiar with all transportation modes with the understanding of Government training and transportation operations
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, contractors and other employees
• Active listening skills
• Excellent Customer Service Skills
• Ability to maintain a stable performance under pressure or opposition, handling stress in a manner acceptable to others and the organization
• Possess good analytical and problem solving skills to manipulate data and interpret into meaningful operational performance trends
• Time management skills and ability to prioritize
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Access) to prepare multiple Contractual and Government reports
• Experience with transportation management/dispatching and optimization tools
• Experience facilitating and collaborating in workgroups with principals at upper echelons of military/civilian organizations.
• Experience with software applications and SharePoint website management
Other Requirements:
• Able to travel (1-5 %)
