Supervisor
Location: Redstone Arsenal, AL
Employment Status: Full-time Regular
Potawatomi Training LLC is seeking a qualified candidate to provide oversight and supervision for file operations at a large-volume, and provide a training resource while clerks are performing in several areas of operations
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversees clerks to ensure quality and quantity of their work
- Performs Quality Control (QC) Reviews in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Properly assigns, monitors and evaluates clerks to jobs which need to be accomplished
- Identifies, analyzes and solves problems which appear during the work day
- Collects, prepares, verifies, records and submits required paperwork
- Performs required personnel paperwork, to include (but not limited to) absence slips and accident/injury reports, and performance improvement plans
- Monitors attendance of assigned clerks and properly processes required paperwork to verify absences.
- Uses Employee Guide to assist clerks in understanding and following policies and procedures
- Drafts and edits SOP as needed
- Receives, prepares for shipment and ships FedEx
- Properly monitors and/or disposes of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in accordance with the SOP
- Performs duties as Safety Monitor, identifying, fixing and reporting safety hazards throughout the facility.
- Provides training to clerks as needed in all aspects of their job
- Other duties as assigned or management to include RMT duties as needed
Essential Knowledge, Qualifying Skills
- Must have direct experience in large volume records work
- Excellent interpersonal skills, proficient in written and oral communications
- Excellent character and work habits
- Strong problem identification and solving skills
- Ability to supervise subordinates with fairness and consistency according to SOP
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, sequencing and knowledge of weights and measures
- Ability to communicate and work in team environment, and interact with clerks, other supervisors, management and SSA/NRC personnel
- Conscientious, detail-oriented and methodical, extremely accurate, with sense of dedication
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Performs opening and closing procedures
Qualification Standards
- Must meet standards for Fit for Duty Testing.
- Two to three years of experience as a working supervisor preferred
- High School graduate; college a plus
- Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions (Other preferences will be given for special language skills when there is a business need)
- Applicants must pass pre-employment background check(s) and may be rejected if an interview or background check reveals that the applicant has been convicted of a felony or offense against property such as receipt of stolen property, larceny, embezzlement, burglary or similar convictions
- Must have valid drivers license
Physical Job Requirements
- Ability to move about and cross-train in all areas of the site location
- Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break
- Ability to push and pull loaded carts approximately 1 mile
- Frequent handling of folders. Grasping, pulling, lifting, scooping, etc;
- Working safe requires the ability to use both hands;
- Frequent overhead lifting of 35 lbs or less
- 10 keying and data entry
- Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to 50 lbs using proper safety and lifting methods and without assistance.
- Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions. Ability to distinguish color to perform job functions
Environmental Concerns
- Normally subjected to inside (cave) environmental conditions
- Use of carts, stools, elevators, conveyors, pallet jacks, and pallet lifts
- Foot wear must be closed toe and closed heel with a non slip surface
- Walking several miles per day is routine
Performance Standards
- Responsible for conforming to safety standards and will be well groomed at all times
- Comply with performance criteria, standards of conduct, discipline and discharge procedures contained in company Policy and Procedures Manual
- Must be able to perform the job responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation
