Department Overview
PG&E’s Customer Care delivers the desired customer experience for each of our customers. Everything we do starts with the customer and our information about the customer. Within Customer Care, the Customer Energy Solutions department (CES) designs, implements, and administers customer demand side management programs--including energy efficiency, distributed generation, demand response, and rate programs—that help PG&E customers in Northern and Central California manage the energy use of their homes and businesses.
Within CES, our Energy Efficiency Quality Control and Communications (QC&C) team consists of collaborative problem-solvers that improve energy savings data quality for the larger Energy Efficiency (EE) team, ensure regulatory compliance and process efficiencies, and communicate best practices to our internal and external stakeholders. We strive to maintain high-quality data for the Energy Efficiency department in a timely, transparent, and respectful manner.
Position Summary
The QC&C Business Systems Specialist, Expert will function as a liaison to IT from our EE department, representing the end users and business process owners in business system requirements, implementations, and support. In consultation with business process owners in EE, the Specialist will define user system requirements, provide user support, coordinate user acceptance testing of new tools and gather user feedbacks. The Specialist will also perform feasibility analysis, develop project scope, and provide recommendations on alternative solutions, project strategy, and deliverable prioritization.
Job Responsibilities
- Act as a key contributor to teams that define, review, and approve requirements for the business needs solution
- Analyze and document business requirements for complex projects
- Analyze end-to-end complex business processes and coordinate with IT to develop and implement solutions to information needs
- Anticipate concerns and questions, and provide proactive, timely and professional communications or delegate as appropriate
- Contribute to business case development
- Identify, propose, and influence solutions to complex business problems
- Assist with training, change management, and communications associated with system implementations
- May write manuals, Requests for Change, and procedures related to business system use
- Participate in project budget and time estimates
- Participate in User Acceptance Tests and perform quality reviews of test results
- Provide expert consulting in business and user needs
- Provides mentorship and guidance to less experienced employees
- Understand in detail current and future business environment; effectively anticipate, identify, and fully meet the business needs
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- Job-related experience, 7 years
Desired:
- Graduate Degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in IT-Information Technology management, or related, 6 years
- Experience in business, job-related, 8 years
- Experience in project participation, high complexity
- Experience as Project Manager
