Department Overview

PG&E’s Supply Chain Responsibility program integrates supplier code of conduct, environmental sustainability and supplier diversity initiatives into company and supply chain processes:

  • Supplier Diversity focuses on maximizing opportunities for small and diverse businesses. This focus enhances the quality of service we provide to our customers and fosters economic opportunities in our local communities.
  • Supply Chain Environmental Sustainability works to reduce environmental impacts in PG&E’s and our suppliers’ business operations. It guides how we select, engage and manage vital supplier business partnerships.
  • PG&E’s Supplier Code of Conduct sets forth the standards we expect from our suppliers and their employees, subcontractors and sub-suppliers while working with PG&E.

 

Position Summary

You will be responsible for leading, developing and implementing world-class programs that enhance supplier diversity, environmental sustainability and ethical sourcing within PG&E’s supply chain. You will manage a team responsible for benchmarking, reporting and tracking performance metrics to ensure compliance with regulatory and business requirements. The position applies project and change management skillsets to enhance PG&E’s Prime Supplier, Small Business, and Technical Assistance Programs.  You will manage the Supplier Code of Conduct program including leading the development and execution of standards and compliance requirements.  This position works cross-functionally to communicate the overall business case for supply chain responsibility with internal stakeholders and works collaboratively with Community Based Organizations and other external groups to meet business objectives.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

A reasonable salary range is:

 

California Minimum: $116,000

California Maximum: $184,000

 

Bay Area Minimum: $ 122,000

Bay Area Maximum: $194,000

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and based on business needs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead teams to assess business requirements, identify diverse suppliers to meet these needs and coach suppliers to compete successfully at PG&E
  • Manage spend analysis, needs assessment, benchmarking and business case development to achieve PG&E’s supplier diversity goal.
  • Assess current trends, projects, history and future direction to forecast supplier diversity goal and achievement.
  • Strengthen LOB participation and accountability in achieving PG&E's supplier diversity goal.
  • Work with prime suppliers to develop value-added solutions by utilizing diverse suppliers.
  • Establish PG&E as a lead advocate for including diverse suppliers in all green initiatives, green supply chain, and significant brand enhancement
  • Build network of internal stakeholders to improve supplier environmental sustainability performance when procuring goods and services.  
  • Maintain and improve relationships with community-based organizations, Commissioners, and key stakeholders to gain support for PG&E regulatory initiatives.
  • Develop internal and external reporting and communication of PG&E’s supplier diversity results and achievement.
  • Review reports to identify shortfalls and opportunities to increase supplier diversity and manages all required government reporting and data requests
  • Ensure adherence to the Supplier Code of Conduct by leading and implementing controls to reduce supplier risks including managing audit processes and corrective action.
  • Build supplier awareness to the Supplier Code of Conduct through communication and training.

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum:

  • 6 years of related work experience 
  • Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration, Supply Chain, Public Relations, Communications or related field, or equivalent experience

 

Desired:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Public Relations or Communications
  • ISM Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
  • Knowledge of supplier diversity principles
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Ability to influence senior management
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with external regulatory, governmental, business or customer groups
  • Knowledge of computer applications such as MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to manage projects / initiatives
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and recommend solutions
