Job Description
The Enterprise Architect proactively and holistically helps guide the enterprise through transformation and optimization initiatives, supporting the formulation of future strategy. The EA’s scope of activities includes helping the organization achieve targeted business outcomes related to grow revenue, optimizing costs and mitigating risks. They focus on building relationships with business and IT stakeholders, communicating the value of Enterprise Architecture and the services it offers, and shaping and guiding the delivery of EA’s services. The EA will support the transformation of Business Technology Services (BTS) through the establishment & application of Enterprise Architecture practices including architectural patterns, styles, principles, and technology roadmaps to deliver on business objectives for PGTI.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Collaborate with IT leaders to document current state architecture, develop domain capability models, maturity assessments, health assessments and technical roadmaps with the needs of the business organization
- Support the strategic planning process by providing input to the scope definition of strategic initiatives leveraging roadmaps to provide visibility to impacts, dependencies, overlaps and improvement opportunities
- The Enterprise Architect is charged with the primary responsibility of creating the roadmap and regulations guiding IT designs and implementation within a business organization
- The Enterprise Architect’s role involves designing efficient and sustainable programs that are able to meet the present and future needs of the business. Analyze enterprise business context and objectives to derive the solution architecture ‘future' state
- Defines, communicates, and documents the architecture patterns, styles, and principles
- Defines metrics to measure and demonstrate architectural value
- Research, document, and drive the adoption of design patterns throughout the enterprise and evangelize best practices for solution design and development
- Maintain contact with vendors, industry peers, and professional associations to keep informed of existing and evolving industry standards and technologies and evolving industry standards and technologies
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- Strong analytical, problem solving and quantitative analysis skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Hands on engineering skills to develop POC’s, patterns and anti-pattern examples
- Strong influence, facilitation, communication, and collaboration skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate with a variety of disciplines and diverse groups of people
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic, attention to detail and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail & forward thinking
- Ability to work individually or within a team in a fast-paced environment
- Hands on experience with software development and documentation
- Solid knowledge of business information systems
- Ability to explain technical details
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree is preferred. Knowledge of information technology required
- 3 years of experience as a Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect or Product Architect preferred
- Strong knowledge of cloud environments including Azure and AWS
- Experience with multiple technology stacks including Microsoft and client-based architectures
- Knowledge of computer languages such as C , Basic.Net, Java, and HTML and also have good knowledge of operating systems and application servers
