What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Specialist Lv 3 position at PGT Innovations?
The Level III Specialist for the PGTI iLab Glass is responsible for coordinating setup for all lines in iLab glass production including Cutting/Edging/Lamination/IG and shipping. The Level III specialist will be responsible for mentoring and developing the Level I, and Level II specialist. They will be capable of running all machines an all iLab glass production areas, and help with general maintenance when needed. They will be capable of backfill in any process through iLab production.

What You'll Do
Primary:
- Assist team leader in coordinating production set up in all iLab production areas including Cutting, edging, lamination, IG and shipping.
- Operate and setup CNC / automated equipment
- Maintains a safe working environment
- Run production in line with the build report
- Operate cutters, edger, Burkel oven, IG line
- Ensure products conform to design intent and meets defined quality standards
- Assist in establishing and refining Quality Standards
- Ensure equipment is clean, safe, and can perform general maintenance/adjustments when required.
- Follows and establishes operator care procedures
- Assist with development of Level I, and Level II Specialists
- Perform all processes to make correct transactions for glass tracking
- Help develop enhanced flow processes for iLab glass production
- Train TMs in primary areas
- Participates in inventory management
- Participates in safety projects- 1 project each quarter
- Train Level II specialists to track glass from build reports through shipping processes
- Understand process improvement opportunities from a safety, quality, and efficiency standpoint
- Participate in equipment installations and runoffs
- Provide input to establish safe, efficient processes, with a focus on quality
- Perform Op Cares on all equipment in IGA8, Glass line cutter, CMS, Burkle
- Will establish best practices, and assist in training when the time comes to move the product to another facility for full time production
- Collaborate with engineering to learn new processes for new designs
- Understand process improvement opportunities from a safety, quality, and efficiency standpoint

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Hands-on mechanical skills required - working knowledge of tools such as CNC, glass cutter, burkle oven, IG Auto, and Manual lines, etc. required
- Experience with CNC setup, programing, and optimizing
- Ability to handle multiple products/assemblies on the same line
- Experience driving a Forklift preferred
- Understands how to read tape measure
- Understand how to use a micrometer
- Drawing interpretation
- Experience in glass production
- Expert in glass makeups. Label, and rack report reading
- Knowledge of ERP systems preferred- Pref, Frontier, PMC preferred

REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to recognize equipment/fabrication anomalies, and trouble shoot.
- Ability to work in run order from a production schedule/ build report
- Must receive Lock Out / Tag Out certification red
- Has experience with driving a Forklift, and can pass PGT Forklift certification
