As an Embedded Developer on the Phantom Auto team, you'll play a very important role that will include the following:


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain integration software as part of our system on various vehicles using C/C and different protocols such as CANopen, J1939, ROS, and proprietary APIs.
  • Integrate our system with different warehouse management systems.
  • Provide expertise in troubleshooting automotive, robotics, and embedded systems.
  • Work closely with the customer success team to debug complicated issues and create tools.
  • Work closely with R&D to bring up issues and missing features.
  • Travel Expectations: Travel in Q3 & Q4 2022 is expected for this role (up to 40%) primarily to South San Francisco Headquarters until the Phantom Auto Denver office opens in January 2023.

Requirements:

  • (BS/MS) Bachelor or Master of Science or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • 5 years of professional experience with at least one of the following: Python or C/C .
  • Experience with embedded programming and systems.
  • Great interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with basic to intermediate electronics troubleshooting, wiring (wire harness design), and modification of existing onboard vehicle systems.
  • Familiarity with networking.
  • Familiar with Wireshark, tcpdump, and Linux tools (ss, netcat, etc)
  • Knows how to work with TCP and UDP protocols.
  • Experience configuring Linux network devices and interfaces.
  • Strong Linux background such as knowledge on Bash scripting, network setup and systems

Preferred

  • 7 years of experience with one of C/C .
  • Proficiency with ROS, CAN bus and networking programming.
  • Strong understanding and experience with networking.
  • Development experience on Linux.
