What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager position at Pharmaron?
We are looking for a Project Manager - Biology to manage critical projecst by communicating with our biologists in China. This Project Manager will need to understand and learn projects in detail, provide scientific input, and then communicate the information to the clients. This person will work closely with the Business Development team to present our in vitro biology capabilities to new/existing clients during in-person meetings or video calls and work with the biology subject matter expert to provide customized solutions to our clients in order to expand the biology collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate the ability to influence the perception and improve the customer's experience by identifying the root cause of the problem and creating clarity about the data, the SOPs, and the deliverables
- Strengthen the collaboration in biology area and work with internal scientific team and BD team to expand collaboration.
- Leverage subject matter expertise to provide to clients oversight of various aspects of project development and to relieve work pressure of client communication from the study director
- Coordinate, lead, and present weekly meetings on project deliverables internally and with external clients. Provide the digestible content for the meetings and ensure the clients requests are understood across teams
- Identify and mitigate project risks. Resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Ability to jump into customer relationships mid-stream when issues come up to re-establish our credibility and value
- Work closely with cross-functional internal and external teams to ensure that project objectives are delivered according to agreed scope, cost, quality and timeline milestones
- Support Business Development team by attending virtual and in-person meetings to provide technical expertise and subject matter experience to secure new contracts
- Attend scientific conferences or client visit with scientific leaders and advocate Pharmaron's in vitro biology capabilities. Help review the presentation materials.
- Generate and coordinate FFS and FTE contracts and associated POs
- Function as cross-organizational coordinator of our customer platforms by acting as a primary point of contact across multiple departments
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in biological sciences or related discipline
- Multiyear post-graduation experience in industry or academia
- Experience of project or program management experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
- Experience managing in vitro development programs would be an advantage
- Understanding of drug discovery and development would be an advantage
- Good understanding and application of Project Management principles, concepts, practices and standards; PMP certification a plus
- Established expertise and hands-on experience with Microsoft Project or equivalent, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint and remote meeting tools such as MS Teams, WebEx, etc.
