Pharmacy Technician

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists in providing quality pharmaceutical care to patients. Your responsibilities will include preparing medications, maintaining inventory, and providing excellent customer service. Experience with compounding is preferred.

Responsibilities:

- Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications accurately and efficiently

- Prepare medications by counting tablets, labeling bottles, and packaging prescriptions

- Maintain pharmacy inventory by ordering and stocking medications and supplies

- Process insurance claims and handle billing issues

- Provide exceptional customer service to patients by answering questions and resolving concerns

- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure proper medication therapy management

- Utilize medical terminology and knowledge of drug names, dosages, and uses

- Follow aseptic technique when compounding sterile products such as IV infusions

- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment

- Assist in all areas of compounding and logistics

- Assist with the intake and authorization processes in Brightree pharmacy software

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience

- Current pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) is a plus

- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy practices

- Experience with medication administration and critical care settings is preferred

- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy

- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide exceptional patient care

- Experience with insurance intake process

- Experience with assisting in compounding

- Experience with data entry in pharmacy software

- Experience with packing up for delivery and logistics

Pay: $18.86 - $19.86 per hour
