Position Summary
The Training Solutions Representative will lead initiatives that focus on developing workforce training solutions with a business-lead approach, while working with partners to ensure adult education and other needs are met. This position will be responsible for overseeing projects that align workforce training, adult education, and business needs. Establish and maintain relationships with adult basic education stakeholders, regional businesses, and community and training agencies that lead to career placements and/or workforce retention. This position will have a strategic role in supporting grants and projects focused on building regional talent pipelines, addressing skill gaps, and creating meaningful educational and career pathways for a range of workers that align with PhilaWorks’ training investment strategy.
Essential Functions
Act as the primary point of contact for PhilaWorks on employer-driven training grants and projects and act as the workforce development subject matter expert on these initiatives.
Work with a variety of stakeholders, including employers, training providers, and adult education organizations to lead development of employer-driven training programs.
Remain current on workforce training and adult education models that may be relevant to developing programming for PhilaWorks.
Regularly convene partners to advance work of assigned grants and projects.
Assist with development and implementation of new processes and procedures related to assigned grants and projects.
Gain and maintain knowledge of multiple diverse funding sources that may contribute to financing training programs.
Work with PhilaWorks and PA CareerLink® business engagement teams to establish relationships with relevant employers to identify and address their training, and workforce advancement needs.
Convey information about demand-driven training and employment services for job seekers and employer-driven training programs, certifications, and skill sets.
Work directly with employers to meet their needs with customized training and incumbent worker training to address job quality, employee retention, and diversifying hiring.
Work with the research and data team to develop regular data and business intelligence products, as relevant to assigned grants and projects.
Identify, convene, and support targeted sectors to map talent pipelines and identify strategies to tie their talent needs to career pathways and the workforce system.
Gather and maintain accurate records for weekly, monthly, and quarterly funding reports.
Maintain specific competencies and serve as the expert in an assigned targeted industry cluster, tailoring service delivery systems to each employer’s needs
Respond in a timely manner to all employer and partner requests, thus securing a high degree of customer service excellence.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education/Professional Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, Business or other related fields with 3 years of experience in adult education. Or any combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience/knowledge related to workforce training and/or adult basic education and/or curriculum development
Strong skills in the following area: partnership development, customer relations, account management, project management, and account development
Able to convene groups of partners and manage meetings Ability to make firm appointments, articulate the mission, providing a high degree of customer satisfaction
Strong written, public speaking, interpersonal, presentation, and relationship-building skills
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Strong organizational, analytical, and prioritizing skills
Strong networker
Ability to multi-task and possess flexibility to meet departmental needs.
Proficient in the use of personal computers and Microsoft Office products
Ability to effectively relate to people of diverse educational and cultural backgrounds, government agencies, public officials, and all levels of management and staff
Must have the ability to travel throughout the city and surrounding area
