Summary: Perform various construction surveying related tasks utilizing Trimble GPS, survey, and CAD software in order to produce clear, complete, and concise results in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Train, educate and assist field personnel in the use and operation of Machine Control GPS equipment
- Site localization and set-up, pre-surveys, production surveys and as-builts as necessary
- Verify Machine Control calibrations, maintain and troubleshoot GPS problems when necessary
- Perform site staking/layout and grade checking as necessary
- Produce quantity reports for project managers and superintendents
- Practice good recordkeeping skills for survey logs and records
Requirements:
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Excellent Communication skills both oral and written when working alongside all levels of management, co-workers, vendors and clients
- Experience with Trimble data collection software & surveying equipment
- Proficient with MS office software
- Experience with drafting software (AutoCAD, Carlson) preferred
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret civil plans and specifications
- Must be a motivated self-starter, team player with the desire to learn and advance
- Must be able to work in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking and standing on uneven terrain and variable weather conditions
- Must be willing to travel. Moderate to extensive overnight travel
- Must possess clean driving record to drive company vehicle
Education and Experience:
- AAS/Technical Certificate in Geodetic/Surveying or 1-3 years related field experience
