Program: Clinical Dept. - Residential Campus

Position Function: Provide direct therapeutic services in order to ensure the successful implementation of the client’s individual treatment plan.

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Master’s degree in a field related to mental health
• 1 years of experience in a child and adolescent mental health or chemical dependency setting, child welfare or juvenile justice setting, or educational setting
• Preferred: Licensure as a mental health professional

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide direct service delivery of individual psychotherapy to assigned clients in accordance with the individual treatment plan.
• Provide direct service delivery of family therapy at the agency, home, and/or community setting in accordance with the treatment plan.
• Provide direct services delivery of group therapy to assigned client groups.
• Directly implement components of the treatment plan developed in conjunction with the treatment team, as appropriate.
• Provide consultation regarding the client’s mental health needs and progress to other treatment team members to ensure the client’s successful participation in the full treatment program, as specified in the treatment plan.
• Complete all required documentation in a timely fashion and in required formats, including, but not limited to, progress notes and treatment progress summaries.
• Serve as a member of the treatment team. Attend treatment reviews of assigned clients and make recommendations for ongoing treatment planning.
• Maintain ongoing communication with other agency staff who work with the client and family regarding the client’s progress toward treatment plan goals.
• Provide emergency evaluation and intervention when critical situations arise requiring such interventions, as assigned by the Director of Campus Clinical Services.
• Participate in clinical supervision and staffing training programs, as assigned.
• Be available for clinical on-call rotation as assigned by the Director of Campus Clinical Services.
• Carry out all other duties assigned by the program supervisor to ensure the successful implantation of the client’s treatment plan.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Understanding of at-risk youth and trauma-informed practice
• Ability to work on a team and provide supervision to interns
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to effectively communicate with children and adolescents
• Preferred: Training and experience in evidence-based practices

Work Environment and Primary Work Locations:

• Will vary in accordance with individual clients’ needs
• Therapeutic services will take place on the Flourtown campus, as well as in the community and in client homes.
• Must be available for a flexible schedule on an as-needed basis
• In general, direct therapy services will be delivered during hours that are least intrusive to the child’s overall program.

Physical Considerations:

• Moderate physical exertion required
• Ability to maintain composure and effectively intervene in any crisis situations with youth
