The Logistician reports up the management chain the via the Logistics Lead. This position is part of a three-man team in support of a larger hardware centric Phoenix Defense contract for the US Army. The logistics team will work together in a team of professionals within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment to accomplish milestones while collaborating with other teams to achieve project strategic goals. The Logistician must have a background in hardware, inventory, documentation, and other logistical functional areas.

What you Will Do

  • Submit Requests for Quotes within CHESS for hardware and software procurement
  • Assist with preparation of Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders
  • Receive, inventory and log equipment for material orders
  • Perform periodic logistic inventories and related logistics functions for managed inventory
  • Support setup, movement, and teardown of IT equipment within a lab environment
  • Coordinate, plan and monitor the physical shipping and receiving of hardware, equipment, and related material in a warehouse and/or lab environment
  • Assist with the preparation of logistics support documentation and source data, logistics plans, databases, and support files to support the fielding of simulation systems
  • Review and/or assists in the development of contract CDRL reports/data
  • Develop and maintain Logistics Product Data (LPD) comprised of support-related engineering and logistics data generated from the product support analysis
  • Support related facilities analyses, refine maintenance concepts, and identifying resources required to support the fielded equipment
  • Understand and develop cataloging data to allow the Government to catalog all delivered hardware, spares, and support equipment
  • Generate Item Unique Identification (IUID) marking activity, validation and verification reports and labels
  • Review Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) manuals for delivery to the customer
  • Assist in the development of maintenance engineering and logistics support
  • Coordinate with hardware engineers and other staff
  • Adhere to CMMI quality procedures to ensure first time quality in delivered products

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or other related discipline from an accredited university
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working Logistics, Supportability Engineering, Supply Support and/or Maintenance Planning
  • Background working on hardware centric projects
  • Understanding of inventory management tools (e.g. Deltek)
  • Knowledge and experience developing Logistics Product Data
  • Experience performing logistical analyses and implementing maintenance processes
  • Microsoft Office Products such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook experience
  • Holds a current minimum DOD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one
  • Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required
  • Critical-thinking skills to develop, adjust, and successfully carry out logistical plans, with ability to improve efficiency.
  • Detail oriented, with excellent problem-solving skills to handle unforeseen issues with the ability to adjust plans as needed to mitigate/resolve the issues.
  • Ability to collaborate with different teams to ensure positive technical results while balancing goals, approaches, and risks.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with inventory management tools
  • Knowledge of the Army’s Computer Hardware, Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) and Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) processes
  • Experience with Material Inspection and Receiving Reports (MIRR)
  • Military Simulation/Training project experience
  • Defense/Military contractor experience
  • Experience with Contract Deliverables Requirements Lists (CDRLs)

Salary : $64,200 - $81,300
