MUST BE CERTIFIED TO A LEVEL III
Phoenix Manufacturing currently has an opportunity for a qualified NDT professional as our Responsible Aerospace NDT Level III Inspector. In this job, you will lead our small NDT department. The current capability is only for penetrant inspection (FPI), with ability to stand-up magnetic particle inspection (MPI). You are self-reliant, energetic and have successfully prepared for and led Nadcap audits. Phoenix provides a stable work environment with an opportunity for further advancement.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Inspection to industry standards and company procedures.
· Daily use of inspection materials and equipment that meet Nadcap requirements.
· Assist production in setup of materials and jobs.
· Able to train MPI and FPI trainees as required.
· Maintain a clean, organized and safe environment.
· Successfully lead FPI audits.
· Support the operations outside of the normal work day.
· Other duties as assigned in QC.
· Flexibility to work overtime and weekends if necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· A dependable, hard worker capable of increased responsibility.
· Qualified with at least ten (10) years of experience in the aerospace manufacturing industry.
· Inspector with ability to develop and approve NDT/QA/QC process and procedures.
· Able to perform MT/PT non-destructive testing certified to NDT Level III.
· Ability to lead and perform industry-applicable audits including Nadcap related services.
· Willing to accept the position as Phoenix’s Responsible Level III MPI / FPI Inspector.
· Level III fluorescent penetrant inspection certification meeting the requirements of NAS410and the American Society for Non-Destructive testing recommended practice No. SNT-TC-1A.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ABILITIES:
· Self-motivated and reliable
· Be able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
· Will work alone with minimal supervision.
· Possess fundamental written and verbal communication skills.
· Be fluent (written and verbal) in the English language.
· Computer skills, especially familiarity with MS Office applications, are necessary.
· Comfortable working in fast paced team environment
EDUCATION:
· Magnetic Particle Certification from an accredited institution as a Level III to NAS 410.
· Liquid Penetrant Certification from an accredited institution as a Level III to NAS 410.
· High School Diploma or GED
· Proof of NDT classroom hours
· Proof of OJT hours or previous Level I, II & III certs

COVID-19 considerations:
This position demands working autonomously in the Phoenix NDT Lab. As such, minimal exposure to others significantly decreases the need for constant social distancing. Phoenix policy is for all employees to wear masks, as well as other protocols.
