Responsibilities:
Purpose of Position:
Evaluate, treat, and document speech, language, dysphagia, and voice related impairments in both inpatient and outpatient populations under MD’s prescription.
Functions/Responsibilities:

Demonstrates knowledge of the Privacy and Security rules outlined in the HIPAA guidelines.

Adheres and conforms to all hospital and departmental guidelines, policies and procedures.

Administer specialized age- appropriate test and evaluations.

Provide appropriate therapy as prescribed by physician.

Keep accurate records of patient’s progress, goals and attendance.

Make recommendations for home programs.

Communicates with physicians and other health care providers to offer coordinated and comprehensive care. Attend interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care.
- Participate in departmental QI meetings.

Provide periodic in-services to staff regarding speech pathology.

Adheres to the departmental attendance policy.

All other duties as required by the department.

Maintains and continues to build upon professional competency through education and annual review.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited university of Speech Pathology program.

Certificate of Clinical Competence by ASHA.
-
New York State license.
