Informatics Hospital Manager

This position is responsible for the overall Systems Development Life Cycle maintenance, including responsibility for participating in planning, development, training, implementation, evaluation of use, and maintenance of clinical information systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare informatics or related field required
• 5 -7 years previous experience in information technology or informatics required
• Ability to prioritize conflicting demands and solve problems
• Ability to create an IT roadmap and action plan for potential development
• Ability to troubleshoot technology issues
• Thorough knowledge of IT clinical management processes and procedures
• Thorough knowledge of clinical workflows and relational database concepts
• Strong project management skills
• Basic knowledge of understanding of integration of informatics systems related to healthcare

Essential Functions

• Serves as the liaison between the Hospital Staff, Clinical Department and IT Department.
• Acts as the internal expert for the HIS clinical system
• Ensures successful implementation of various modules of the Hospital EMR system
• Coordinates with Leaders to apply process improvement with technology solutions and implementation adoption
• Schedules upgrades and security backups for hardware and software systems
• Supervises development of Cerner Community Works system
• Identifies users’ needs and system functionality to ensure the facilities meet these needs
• Provides direction on IT budgets, standards and procedures for overall IT performance
• Reviews and evaluates current systems and applications for possible enhancements
• Provides solutions to ensure compatibility and integration of information systems as it related to the healthcare field
