Description

Summary

Reporting to the Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, the Industrialization Engineering Intern will work with them on the design and manufacturing of parts or products, develop systems to make processes more efficient, enforce quality control procedures to avoid production line problems, communicate with stakeholders about projects, and adhere to safe job practices in the manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. The Industrial Engineering Intern will support Industrialization, Operations, Continuous Improvement and Production Planning, while improving on our current processes.
  2. Participate in continuous improvement activities such as kaizen events.
  3. This intern will help value stream map current processes, identify areas to drive operational efficiencies and implement change within our facility.
  4. Help with the creation of checklists for the job folders that details each manufacturing order and provides the requirements for completion.
  5. Assists the Industrialization team with training and hands on technical support of the manufacturing team.
  6. Helps with the creation of work instructions through gathering data, taking pictures, and interacting with the assembly shop floor.

Education, Knowledge and Skills

  • Required: Currently enrolled in a BS Industrialization Engineering program with Sophomore, Junior or Senior status.
  • Strong, professional English, verbal & written communication skills are required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Equipment Used

Personal computer, caliper, copier and calculator. Requires a working knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, Creo, and ERP software.

The performance of the duties of this job are both in an office and plant floor environment. The noise level and cleanliness in both environments is quiet and clean.
