The Opportunity: We are seeking an R&D Lab Technician to help drive development of the next generation of laser-based analytical instrumentation capable of high precision, high accuracy molecular analysis of complex gas mixtures. The Lab Technician will help collect critical spectroscopic data on a wide variety of compounds, to create state-of-the-art chemical analysis instrumentation, and will support the R&D team in performing experiments and developing new applications for Picarro's (CRDS) Cavity Ring Down Spectroscopy technology.

Responsibilities:
The ideal Lab Technician candidate is someone familiar with working in a chemical laboratory who will
- Run chemical samples (gas, liquid, solid) through existing R&D optical experimental setups on a daily basis,
- Support multiple experiments by purchasing components, helping to construct setups, run experiments, troubleshoot, collect data, and run analysis scripts.
- Understand how to read Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for chemicals and identify safety hazards
- Manage Chemical Inventory to ensure proper safe storage, handling and purchasing
- Perform logistical tasks to support laboratory and field work.
- Bachelors preferred in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or related field
- 1-3 years Laboratory experience, including the basics of safe chemical handling, required.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment desired, including operation of common equipment such as mass balances, voltmeters, etc.
- Computer fluency required; experience in computer programming desirable.
- Candidate should prioritize high quality work and attention to detail.
- Able to communicate effectively verbally and in written form.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $50-52k. Your base salary range and title will be determined based on the location, experience, qualification, skills, knowledge, level, and pay of employees in similar positions.
