What are the responsibilities and job description for the Peer Recovery Support Specialist-Fairfield County Jail position at Pickaway Area Recovery Services, Inc.?
Time in this position will be will be split between the Fairfield County Jail (20 hours per week) and Lancaster Recovery Services (20 hours per week).
This employee will be responsible for providing peer support services to clients attending treatment through the Fairfield County Jail and Lancaster Recovery Services in Lancaster, Ohio. To provide support to others in recovery from a substance use disorder. The Peer Support Specialist will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator to recovering individuals in order to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery. The Peer Support Specialist must demonstrate an ability to share personal recovery experiences within ethical and professional boundaries and to develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships as outlined in standard practices as identified by OhioMHAS, Ohio Department of Medicaid, and CARF.
Education/Skill Requirements:
1. Certified Peer Recovery Supporter Certification
2. Self-motivated and strong work ethic
3. Able to maintain healthy boundaries within the scope of practice.
4. Flexibility with job requirements and responsibilities
Job Duties: Daily Percentage:
Peer Support Services 60 – 70%
Documentation of Services 5 – 10%
Other Duties as assigned 25 – 30%
