What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at PicMed?
Preferred graduate of a medical assistant program, training as a medical assistant, phlebotomist, or military medical specialist.
*Spanish speaker a plus*
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, clinical office environment
- This job requires access to confidential and sensitive information, requiring ongoing discretion and secure information management
- Applicant should have developed interpersonal skills as there will be a lot of patient contact and interaction between staff members: ability to work well within a team is a must
*Responsibilities*
- Handle blood draws, injections, vitals, drug screens, rooming patients
- Work one-on-one with patients as a health care provider
- Monitor the flow of onboarding patients and delivering routine medical care
- Our Medical Assistant greet our patients, obtain their medical histories and verify patient information
- Prepares patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and performing all required testing
- Performs DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing
In addition to Medical Assistant duties, employee will be cross trained to perform front office duties including greeting patients, obtaining authorizations, checking patients in/out, results reporting, and other related duties.
