What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager Operations - Practice Support Primary Care position at Piedmont Healthcare?
JOB PURPOSE:
Drive Physician Enterprise organizational value through the successful management and execution of multidisciplinary projects and enterprise initiatives in addition to continuous operational improvement. Partner with key organizational and operational leaders throughout the health system to scope, plan, implement, and sustain strategically important initiatives and improvements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Create and foster a culture of customer service within Physician Enterprise Central Operations to better serve all stakeholders.
2. Lead the planning and execution for a varying scope of Physician Enterprise projects and major initiatives to include physician practice construction and other modifications, provider and practice integration, physician practice openings, relocations, and closings, process improvement efforts, and other strategically important physician enterprise projects and initiatives. Maintain and routinely distribute appropriate updates and related communication regarding initiative status, challenges, and success to include performance relative to key performance indicators.
3. Build and manage initiative appropriate multidisciplinary teams composed of Piedmont and external stakeholders.
4. Manage existing physician enterprise centralized / standardized vendor relationships. Includes the addition and removal of locations requiring service, serving as the liaison between operations and the vendor to improve Physician Enterprise experience, and assisting in the evaluation of and transition to alternative vendors.
5. Assist various Physician Enterprise areas to maintain existing and create new policies and procedures in addition to facilitating their storage and ease of access. Help identify when new policies and procedures are needed and when enhancements to existing are required. Participate on various committees charged with policy and procedure creation and improvement.
6. Support the appropriate reduction in variation for Physician Enterprise purchased services and supplies and the careful review and introduction of new items and services.
7. Facilitate physician enterprise communication, education, and information dissemination. Includes managing and improving the flow of information between leadership groups and the management of organizationally important information, documents, and tools meant to be accessed by all leaders.
8. Participate in the effective training of new central operations team members and physician practice leadership and the ongoing support for Physician Enterprise education needs.
9. Provide interim leadership as needed for Physician Enterprise departments, services, and/or operational initiatives.
10. Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related healthcare field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five (5) years of progressively responsible healthcare operations experience.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field preferred.
Prior experience in a project management department/office or consulting firm is desired.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodology is a plus.
Supervisory / management experience is preferred.
