Controller

Piedmont Propulsion Systems, LLC is a growing aerospace company which specializes in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft components for regional and military turboprop aircraft. We are seeking a dynamic financial and accounting professional who wants to join its team as Controller.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of the accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting
• Support the financial planning and analysis efforts
• Prepare and review financial statements and internal reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Reconcile and review general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.

• Manage accounts receivable. Daily review of customer accounts and review accounts for shipping approvals. Manage collection activities and notify CFO/General Manager of extraordinary issues. Gather reports and process customer credit applications.

• Manage cash process from daily deposits to monthly bank account reconciliations.
• Develop accounting procedures and internal controls. Recommend improvements, adaptations, or revisions in accounting systems.
• Foster an environment of continuous improvement to take on additional roles and responsibilities as the company grows.
• Flexibility and the ability to manage change are essential.

Qualifications

• 5 - 10 years of finance experience. Highly analytical with problem-solving and pragmatic skills.

• Exemplary organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Bachelor's in Accounting, finance or related field with CPA or CMA preferred, but not required.

• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.

• Ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently manage tasks and time.

• General accounting, budgeting, payroll and accounts payable, and financial analysis.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel).
• Extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and cost accounting principles.
