Maintenance Technician
Position Summary:
Piedmont Regional Jail Authority is looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our team located in Farmville, VA. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all facilities located on the property, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting and carpentry. .This position will be responsible for helping perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical and subsystems in the facility. Help build and fabricate items as necessary. Assist in maintaining the security and appearance of the facility’s exterior grounds, buildings, roads and fencing. Selected applicant will be part of a rotating on-call schedule.The position requires a person who enjoys working on their feet, has a positive attitude and is able to learn and perform tasks. Compensation is based on experience.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Clean driving record (no more than one moving violation per year)
- Must be able to pass drug test and background check(s)
- Ability to work flexible hours (weekends, holidays)
- Ability to work at heights (on rooftops)
- License in trade field preferred
- Valid Driver's license
- Ability to stand and walk for 8 hours or more in a non-climate controlled environment
Salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications
