We currently have an opportunity for a well-rounded and seasoned restaurant Greeter to join our Pier Sixty-Six Resort opening team! We are seeking friendly and outgoing individuals with Fine Dining experience to join our team as a Hostess / Host. As a Hostess / Host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests and outside visitors, providing them with a warm welcome and ensuring their dining experience starts off on a positive note. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Reporting to the Food & Beverage leadership team, the Restaurant Greeter will support and provide excellent service. This high-volume position requires a passion for personalized service and guest engagement.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming demeanor upon arrival
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
- Assist in seating Members and guests according to seating chart or guest preferences
- Manage waitlist during peak hours and provide accurate wait time estimates
- Answer phone calls and take reservations or provide information as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/host station and dining area
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests with professionalism and efficiency
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures
- Effectively communicate with peers, management, line, and front-of-the-house employees
- Practice effective listening: (seek to understand)
- Perform related duties as required
- Be responsible for the cleanliness of the immediate work area as well as the general property
- Adhere to proper grooming, dress and uniform standards as set forth by Resort policy
- Be courteous to all guests and coworkers
- Maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment/hostile work environment policy dictated in the Employee Handbook
- Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware, and garnishes at their respective outlet
Qualifications
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivated individual
- Must be able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English
- Must have effective communication skills
- Ability to implement and uphold service standards
- Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments
- Ability to interact with all associates and guests of the resort
- Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time
- Passionate and has a knowledge of classic cocktails, wines, spirits, and beers
Experience, Education, & Licensure
- High School Diploma or GED recommended
- Some College experience or Degree recommended
- Must be TIPS certified or become certified within 30 days of hire
- Must have a current Food Handlers card
- Previous bartending experience in a professional setting is preferred
