Pierce Atwood LLP seeks a lateral associate with two to five years of energy (electricity and/or natural gas) regulatory experience to join its sophisticated, regional and national Energy Practice in its Portland or Washington DC offices. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of public utility ratemaking and experience before a state public utilities commission and/or the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Experience in the following areas would be a plus: renewable energy markets and development; regulatory approvals for mergers and acquisitions and transmission/pipeline development; energy procurement and contracting; and energy project finance.
