PRESCHOOL TEACHER FOR 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR
TO START IN SUMMER TO ACCLIMATE
Responsibilities:
Endorse and agree with the Conduct Covenant for First Christian Church of Huntington Beach.
Believe that the Bible is God’s Word and is authoritative on all matters of which it speaks.
Valid First Aid and CPR certificates. Biannual training available with Pierside.
Have knowledge and demonstrate competency in early childhood development.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with parents and children.
Ability and continued reliability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
Ability to plan and implement a daily Biblical devotional time.
Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.
Knowledge and working ability of relevant technology.
Have good classroom management
Supportive and encouraging to co-workers
Physical Demands:
Required to lift up to 50 pounds. • Occasionally subjected to outdoor weather conditions.
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, talk, and hear
Regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Regularly subjected to indoor environments.
Requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to
adjust focus.
PRESCHOOL TEACHER JOB DESCRIPTION
4 hours of biblical studies per year. These may be obtained through formal group and/or individual Bible study.
Talking to others to convey information effectively.
Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Social Skills:
Being aware of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
Adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions.
Education:
High school or equivalent
Must have at least 12 ECE units (HMDV 180: Child Growth and Development, HMDV 190:
Family-School-Community, EC 155: Principles/Practices of Teaching Young Children, and EC
200 Curriculum), or equivalent classes and in the process of furthering education in this field.
License/Certification:
CPR Certification (Biannual provided by Pierside)
Universal precautions (i.e., blood-borne pathogens) as state mandated (Annual)
Mandated Reporter General training
Mandated Reporter Child Care (Biannual)
Workplace Harassment prevention as state mandated
California School & Child Care Integrated Pest Management (Annual)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 28.5 per week
